What We Do

  • The Procurement Services Group purchases all goods and/or services, and prepares all Requests for Proposals and Contracts, for the Connecticut General Assembly and Legislative Commissions in compliance with Connecticut law and the Connecticut General Assembly Procurement Code.

  Services

  • The Procurement Services Group provides consists of Purchasing and Contracting staff who provide the following services:
  1. Conduct Vendor Demonstrations
  2. Ensure procurements comply with State statutes and the CGA Procurement Code
  3. Review invoices for compliance with contracts
  4. Utilize State Contracts, WSCA/ NASPO and GSA contracts and other cooperative contracts to provide alternative procurement strategy options, when applicable;
  5. Resolve Contract disputes
  • Purchasing Staff provides the following specific services:
  1. Issues purchase orders
  2. Obtains competitive pricing as needed
  3. Purchase of commodities under State contracts and GSA contracts
  4. Purchase of goods and/or services typically valued less than $10,000
  5. Drafts contracts for goods and/or services typically valued less than $10,000
  6. Rental and maintenance agreements for office machines (copy machines, mailing equipment, etc.)
  • Contracting Staff provides the following specific services:
  1. Drafts Requests for Information
  2. Drafts Request for Proposals and Request for Bids
  3. Drafts Contracts for goods and/or services over $10,000
  4. Purchases of goods and/or services over $10,000
  5. Attends vendors demonstrations
