Every elector who has attained the age of eighteen years shall be eligible to any office in the State, but no person who has not attained the age of eighteen shall be eligible therefore, except in cases provided for in this Constitution. The Members of the General Assembly shall hold their offices from the Wednesday following the first Monday of the January next succeeding their election until the Wednesday after the first Monday of the third January next succeeding their election, and until their successors are duly qualified. (Constitution of the State of Connecticut, Article Third, Section 10).
You do solemnly swear (or affirm) that you will support the Constitution of the United States, and the Constitution of the State of Connecticut, so long as you continue a citizen thereof; and that you will faithfully discharge, according to law, the duties of the Office of State Representative to the best of your abilities; so help you God.
