Capitol Parking

When operating a motor vehicle on the State Capitol campus, please ensure that you drive safely and adhere to posted speed and traffic control signage and roadway markings. Also, please ensure you park appropriately and in compliance with posted regulations.

Visitor Parking (Legislative Office Garage) - There is visitor parking on the first floor of the Legislative Office Garage (LOG). If visitor parking is full, you will be directed to overflow parking lots.

Visitor Parking (Capitol Grounds) - There is a limited amount of visitor parking spaces at the Capitol located at the north entrance off of Trinity street. Due to the limited number of parking spaces, visitors are encouraged to park in the Legislative Office Garage. There is also on-street metered parking and commercial parking lots nearby.

Visitor Security Information - Beginning at the opening of business Thursday August 28, 2014, the security enhancement will be in place and operational in both the Capitol and Legislative Office Building. The process for access is the following: 1) The public entrances are located on the west side of both buildings. Members of the public will be required to walk through a metal detector and have all property scanned through a package scanner. Anyone who does not possess a CGA issued ID/Access card is considered a member of the public. Read more here...

Staff Parking (Legislative Office Garage) - Staff should park on the level 2, level 2 1/2 or level 3.

Staff Parking (Capitol Grounds) - Only staff with a hang tag are allowed to park on the Capitol Grounds.

Handicapped Parking - Available on all levels of the LOB Garage. Additional handicapped parking is located on the South side of the Capitol.

The Capitol Police enforce parking regulations and may tow unauthorized vehicles. The speed limit on the complex roadways is 10 mph and 5 mph in the parking garage. There is no charge for parking. Questions or concerns about parking may be directed to the Capitol Police at (860) 240-0240.
