AN ACT CONCERNING PRIOR AUTHORIZATION FOR HEALTH CARE PROVIDER SERVICES.
To require that (1) the waiver negotiated and implemented in December 2022, that allows patients to step down to a skilled nursing facility before they can guarantee payment from insurance companies, remains in force until the Office of Health Strategy conducts a study and submits a report concerning prior authorization issues for health care provider services in the state, and (2) insurers accept prior authorizations electronically.
