Substitute Senate Bill No. 357

Public Act No. 18-52

AN ACT CONCERNING FUNDING FOR LEAD ABATEMENT AND ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH AND SAFETY CONCERNS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

Section 1. Subsection (k) of section 389 of public act 17-2 of the June special session is repealed and the following is substituted in lieu thereof (Effective from passage):

(k) For the Department of Housing: Funding for the Department of Housing and Connecticut Children's Medical Center's Healthy Homes Program, [for the abatement of lead in homes in the state,] not exceeding $10,000,000, provided (1) not more than $7,000,000 shall be used for the abatement of lead in homes in the state and made available to residents in any municipality in the state, and (2) not more than $3,000,000 shall be used to address environmental health and safety concerns, including, but not limited to, mold, allergens, asthma, carbon monoxide, home safety, pesticides and radon.

Sec. 2. Subsection (j) of section 408 of public act 17-2 of the June special session is repealed and the following is substituted in lieu thereof (Effective July 1, 2018):
