"AN ACT CONCERNING CHEMICALS OF CONCERN TO CHILDREN. "
Strike everything after the enacting clause and substitute the following in lieu thereof:
"Section 1. (Effective from passage) Not later than January 15, 2013, the Commissioner of Public Health shall, within available appropriations and in consultation with the Commissioner of Energy and Environmental Protection, the Commissioner of Consumer Protection and the Chemical Innovations Institute within The University of Connecticut Health Center, established pursuant to section 22a-903 of the general statutes, submit a report to the joint standing committees of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to public health, the environment and consumer protection concerning the regulation of chemicals of concern to children. Such report shall be limited to: (1) A list of chemicals identified by the European Union Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 (REACH) as being of concern to children; and (2) a list of chemicals identified by the federal Environmental Protection Agency as being of concern to children. "
This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections: | ||
