SB-274

AN ACT CONCERNING CHEMICALS OF CONCERN TO CHILDREN.

AMENDMENT

LCO No.: 4734

File Copy No.: 365

Senate Calendar No.: 277

OFA Fiscal Note

MINIMAL COST

There is a minimal cost to the Department of Public Health (DPH) associated with notifying, not later than 11/15/15, manufacturers of a product that contains a chemical that DPH intends to indentify as a chemical of concern to children that DPH will allow them to testify at a public hearing. As there is no timeframe within which the department must complete these hearings nor are there any associated reporting requirements, it is anticipated that these hearings will not result in a fiscal impact to DPH.

The preceding Fiscal Impact statement is prepared for the benefit of the members of the General Assembly, solely for the purposes of information, summarization and explanation and does not represent the intent of the General Assembly or either chamber thereof for any purpose. In general, fiscal impacts are based upon a variety of informational sources, including the analyst's professional knowledge. Whenever applicable, agency data is consulted as part of the analysis, however final products do not necessarily reflect an assessment from any specific department.
