OFA Fiscal Note
The amendment eliminates longevity payments for non-union state employees. This provision is estimated to save approximately $11.9 million in FY 13 and in FY 14. Savings would also be achieved by respective pension systems by excluding these payments from pension calculations. This may result in a lower annual required contribution. The extent of the actual annual savings to the pension system would be recognized in future actuarial valuations.
