Substitute Senate Bill No. 371
AN ACT CONCERNING THE ADMINISTRATION OF INJECTABLE VACCINES TO ADULTS IN PHARMACIES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
Section 1. Subsection (a) of section 20-633 of the general statutes is repealed and the following is substituted in lieu thereof (Effective October 1, 2012):
(a) Any person licensed as a pharmacist under part II of this chapter may administer, to an adult, [a] any vaccine, approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration [for any of the following purposes: (1) The prevention and control of influenza, (2) the prevention of invasive pneumococcal disease, or (3) the prevention of herpes zoster and its sequelae] that is listed on the National Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Adult Immunization Schedule, provided the administration of any such vaccine is conducted pursuant to the order of a licensed health care provider and in accordance with the regulations established pursuant to subsection (b) of this section.
