The Connecticut State Capitol Police Department
has
civilian members of the department assigned to the position of
Security Technicians. Security Technicians are assigned to
strategic entry points on the State Capitol Campus. The
Security Technicians have a background in law enforcement and
private security. They assist in creating a safe environment for the
legislators, staff, and citizens. Duties of Security Technicians
include but are not limited to:

Greet persons entering campus, garages, and
buildings.

Communicate effectively and give directions.

Monitor persons directly and remotely.

Enforce regulations.

Direct pedestrian and vehicular traffic.

Perform First-Aid/AED medical response.
-
Utilize radio equipment and phones.

Communicate with uniformed officers.
