On Wednesday after the first Monday of February, A. D. , 2014 the date by the Constitution of the State of Connecticut for the meeting of the General Assembly, the Senate convened in the Senate Chamber in the Capitol in Hartford at 10: 27 a. m. The Senate was called to order by the President.

The prayer was offered by Acting Chaplain, Joseph P. Quinn of West Hartford, Connecticut.

The following is the prayer:

Lord, give us each day: the patience to understand those who disagree with us, sensitivity to the needs of others, and the prudence to make decisions which work toward the common good. Amen.

Giles – of Milford, as a member of the Board of Pardons and Paroles, as a full-time parole member, to serve a term beginning September 16, 2013 until the sixth Wednesday of the next regular session of the General Assembly, or until a successor is appointed and has qualified, whichever is longer, in succession to Eric Crawford, who resigned.

David Guay – of South Windsor, as Executive Director of the State Contracting Standards Board, to serve at the pleasure of the Governor, for a term commencing October 18, 2013, until the sixth Wednesday of the next regular session of the General Assembly.

Sarah Healy Eagan – of West Hartford, as acting Child Advocate, effective September 9, 2013, until the General Assembly meets to take action on your appointment, in succession to Jamey Bell, who resigned.

Eric J. Hodgson – of Northford, as a member of the Connecticut Medical Examining Board, as an obstertrician-gynocologist, to serve at the pleasure of the Governor, until the sixth Wednesday of the next regular session of the General Assembly.

Robert Klee – of New Haven, as Interim Commissioner of the Department Energy and Environmental Protection, for a term effective February 3, 2014, to serve until the sixth Wednesday of the next regular session of the General Assembly, or until a successor is appointed and has qualified, whichever is longer.
