AN ACT CONCERNING COMMUNICATION AMONG THE STATE POLICE AND LOCAL POLICE DEPARTMENTS DURING ACTIVE SHOOTING INCIDENTS AND CERTAIN OTHER INCIDENTS.

SUMMARY:

This bill requires the emergency services and public protection commissioner to use the state-wide police emergency radio network to notify all local police departments of any shooting incident involving multiple victims. The notice must give the time and location of the incident and any other information the commissioner deems appropriate to disseminate to the departments over the network. The bill allows the commissioner to adopt regulations governing the network's use during and after the shooting or other incidents involving multiple victims.
