"AN ACT CONCERNING THE PALLIATIVE USE OF MARIJUANA. "
After the last section, add the following and renumber sections and internal references accordingly:
"Sec. 501. (Effective from passage) Not later than December 31, 2012, the Commissioner of Public Health and the Commissioner of Consumer Protection shall examine means of administering marijuana, as defined in section 1 of this act, for palliative use, as defined in section 1 of this act, other than the smoking of marijuana. Such means of administering marijuana may include, but need not be limited to, the ingestion of marijuana or the topical application of marijuana. Not later than December 31, 2012, said commissioners shall submit a report on such examination, in accordance with section 11-4a of the general statutes, to the joint standing committees of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to the judiciary, public health and general law. "
