Explanation

The amendment makes Three Rivers Community College eligible to be an operator of a magnet school. Currently, there is a moratorium on non-sheff magnet schools, so until the moratorium is lifted, there would be no additional cost to the state. Should the moratorium be lifted, Three Rivers Community College would be subject to the regular approval and requirement process. If Three Rivers Community College is chosen as an operator, there would be a potential cost to the state associated with school construction and operating grants.

Additionally, Section 504, revises and updates school medical advisors' duties, and is not anticipated to result in a fiscal impact.
