REASONS FOR BILL:
Makes it easier for state colleges and universities purchase and use a technology, product, or process being developed by their research programs by exempting them competitive bidding or negotiation requirements.
The exemption applies to a technology, product, or service that:
● The college or university will use in their operations on a trial basis,
● Is part of or related to one of its research programs
● Could potentially benefit the state
● Will not adversely affect someone's safety
● Can be sold in the marketplace
Effective Date July 1, 2012
