REASONS FOR BILL:
Replaces the State Traffic Commission (STC) with the Office of the State Traffic Administration (OSTA) and transfers all duties and powers from the STC to the OSTA.
RESPONSE FROM ADMINISTRATION/AGENCY:
James P. Redeker, Commissioner, Department of Transportation- Supports this legislation because it will “reduce the timeframe in which applications are reviewed and decisions are rendered.” After the October Job's was passed the State Traffic Commission (STC) underwent the LEAN process, this legislation is part of the process in which to reduce timeframe in which the STC will receive and approve applications.
