The Committee on Public Safety and Security reported through SEN. HARTLEY of the 15th Dist., Chairperson of the Committee on the part of the Senate, that the substitute bill ought to pass.
AN ACT CONCERNING FIRE PREVENTION CODE REGULATIONS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
Section 1. Section 25 of public act 09-177, as amended by section 6 of public act 10-54, is repealed and the following is substituted in lieu thereof (Effective January 1, 2013):
Sections 29-316, [29-321, 29-325 to 29-328, inclusive,] 29-332, [to 29-335, inclusive, 29-336, 29-338 to 29-341, inclusive,] 29-339 and 29-358 [and 29-368 to 29-370, inclusive,] of the general statutes are repealed.
Sec. 2. Sections 29-321, 29-325 to 29-328, inclusive, 29-333 to 29-335, inclusive, 29-336, 29-338, 29-340, 29-341 and 29-368 to 29-370, inclusive, of the general statutes are repealed. (Effective January 1, 2015)
Sec. 3. Section 6 of public act 10-54 is repealed and the following is substituted in lieu thereof (Effective from passage):
Sections [7 to 18, inclusive, and sections 20 to 25, inclusive,] 9, 10, 11, 13, 16, 17, 23 and 24 of public act 09-177 shall take effect January 1, 2013.
Sec. 4. (Effective from passage) Sections 7, 8, 12, 14, 15, 18, 20, 21 and 22 of public act 09-177, as amended by section 6 of public act 10-54, and sections 1, 2 and 4 of public act 10-54 shall take effect January 1, 2015.
This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections: | ||

Explanation
There is no state or municipal fiscal impact associated with delaying changes to the Fire Prevention Code. The bill prevents the sunset of the current Fire Prevention Code while the new code is in the process of development.

AN ACT CONCERNING FIRE PREVENTION CODE REGULATIONS.
This bill delays, by two years, the repeal and implementation of various statutes pertaining to the state Fire Prevention Code and makes technical and conforming changes.
EFFECTIVE DATE: Upon passage for section 3 technical changes and section 4; January 1, 2013 for section 1 technical changes; and January 1, 2015 for section 2.
