AN ACT CONCERNING THE TIMELY REMOVAL OF DOUBLE AND BARE UTILITY POLES.

SUMMARY:

This bill requires the Department of Public Utility Control (DPUC) to hold a contested case proceeding to establish uniform procedures and schedules for the timely removal of double and bare utility poles. The proceeding must at least review how entities such as municipalities, municipal utilities, and the Department of Transportation can comply with existing procedures and schedules. DPUC must issue a final decision by July 1, 2009.
