OLR Bill Analysis
AN ACT CONCERNING THE APPOINTMENT OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE NORTHEASTERN FOREST FIRE PROTECTION AND ATLANTIC STATES MARINE FISHERIES COMMISSIONS.
This bill modifies the membership of the Northeastern Forest Fire Protection and Atlantic States Marine Fisheries commissions. Under current law, the legislators who are appointed must belong to the Commission on Intergovernmental Cooperation, which is now defunct. The bill eliminates the intergovernmental commission membership requirement. It requires the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission appointee who is a legislator to be a member of the Environment Committee and specifies that such an appointee's term expires when he or she is no longer a member of the General Assembly or the Environment Committee.
