PROBATION—SEX OFFENDERS IN EACH COMMUNITY

You asked for the number of sex offenders on probation in each community.

SUMMARY

According to Gary Roberge, assistant director of Adult Services for the Judicial Branch's Court Support Services Division (CSSD), as of April 17, there were 1,644 sex offenders on probation. The communities with the most sex offenders on probation were Hartford with 194, Waterbury with 139, Bridgeport and New Haven with 106 each, and New Britain with 95.

Based on the data Roberge provided, 166 communities have 25 or fewer sex offenders on probation, 152 communities have 10 or fewer and 131 communities have five or fewer. Seven communities have five sex offenders on probation, 19 communities have four, 25 have three, 34 have two, and 46 have one sex-offender.

Table 1 shows the number of sex offenders on probation in each community from highest to lowest. Apparently, the list of communities includes cities, towns, and census designated places.
