AN ACT CONCERNING FUNDING FOR POLICE TRAINING ON IMMIGRATION ENFORCEMENT ISSUES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the sum of ____ dollars be appropriated to the Police Officer Standards and Training Council, from the General Fund, for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2009, for the purpose of a specialized training class focusing on immigration enforcement issues which shall be made part of the standard curriculum and will allow local police officers to be deputized by towns to enforce immigration law.
Statement of Purpose:
To provide funding for a police training class that would allow local police officers to be deputized by towns to enforce immigration law.
