After the last section, add the following and renumber sections and internal references accordingly:

"Sec. 501. (Effective July 1, 2007) The Department of Public Health shall study (1) the impact of second-hand palliative marijuana smoke on primary caregivers and any health professionals who assist in the administration of palliative marijuana, and (2) the increased costs to hospitals based on liability to hospital employees who may be exposed to second-hand palliative marijuana smoke. On or before February 1, 2008, the department shall report its findings and recommendations to the joint standing committee of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to public health, in accordance with the provisions of section 11-4a of the general statutes. "
