"AN ACT CONCERNING THE PALLIATIVE USE OF MARIJUANA. "
After the last section, add the following and renumber sections and internal references accordingly:
"Sec. 501. (Effective October 1, 2007) The Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services shall conduct a study to determine whether the palliative use of marijuana under sections 1 to 9, inclusive, of this act results in an increase in drug addiction rates or mental health problems, or both, in this state. Not later than January 1, 2009, the department shall report its findings and recommendations to the joint standing committee of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to human services, in accordance with the provisions of section 11-4a of the general statutes. "
