"AN ACT CONCERNING THE PALLIATIVE USE OF MARIJUANA. "
After the last section, add the following and renumber sections and internal references accordingly:
"Sec. 501. (Effective July 1, 2007) The Department of Public Safety shall study the impact of the legalization of palliative marijuana use in Alaska and shall analyze (1) the impact on Alaska local and state police departments of the enforcement of fraudulent claims associated with such legalization, and (2) the overall increase of arrests for the illegal use of marijuana in Alaska. On or before February 1, 2008, the department shall report its findings and recommendations to the joint standing committee of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to public safety, in accordance with the provisions of section 11-4a of the general statutes. "
