Explanation
The amendment requires that patients using palliative marijuana register with the police department in the municipality in which they reside or with the Department of Public Safety (DPS) if there is no municipal police department. It is anticipated that the registration requirement could result in a minimal cost to DPS and municipal police departments associated with the necessary resources to maintain the data, and potential overtime associated with collecting and processing the data.
