SB-124

AN ACT CONCERNING THE MEDICAL USE OF MARIJUANA.

AMENDMENT

LCO No.: 6948

File Copy No.: 403

Senate Calendar No.: 326

OFA Fiscal Note

MINIMAL FISCAL IMPACT

The amendment requires any person seeking certification as a user of medical marijuana to be determined to have a terminal illness rather than a debilitating medical condition as provided for in the bill. This could decrease the number of individuals using medical marijuana and thereby reduce the revenue gain from the bill’s registration fee. The Department of Consumer Protection (DCP) would continue to require additional personnel to regulate the substance on a statewide basis under the amendment. Consequently, there is no anticipated fiscal impact related to the workload of the DCP.

The preceding Fiscal Impact statement is prepared for the benefit of the members of the General Assembly, solely for the purposes of information, summarization and explanation and does not represent the intent of the General Assembly or either House thereof for any purpose.
